Meet the Doctor

Darren G. Koch, D.D.S.

Dr. Koch is a graduate of The Rochester Institute of Technology where he received a B.S. degree with highest honors in the field of Biotechnology.

He pursued his dental training at The University at Buffalo and earned his D.D.S. degree with honors in 2001 while graduating in the top 15% of his class. During dental school, Dr. Koch received scholarships based on academic performance and professional service, as well as awards for excellence in restorative dentistry and periodontology. He also completed externships in both pediatric dentistry and oral surgery at local hospitals in the Buffalo area.

In order to obtain additional training in cosmetic and implant dentistry, Dr. Koch completed a one year advanced general dentistry residency at UNC-Chapel Hill. Upon completion of the program, he performed locum tenens work in the Triangle area as well as an associateship with Dr. Jack Mullen in Rocky Mount, NC. In April 2003, he purchased a general dentistry practice in Apex, NC where he worked as a solo practitioner until October 2009. In November 2009, Dr. Koch merged practices and established a partnership with Dr. Delma H. Kinlaw in Cary, North Carolina to form Kinlaw and Koch Family and Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Koch is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Fourth District Dental Society of Raleigh/Wake County. He actively pursues countless hours of continuing education per year in order to learn new techniques and to stay current with the rapidly changing field of dentistry.

Dr. Koch's hobbies include playing tennis, volleyball, and golf; watching NFL football, Carolina Hurricanes hockey, and Carolina Tarheel basketball; playing acoustic and electric guitar, movies, travel, and computers.
